About Maranatha
Why we exist
Maranatha is a small Christ-centered fund with a simple purpose: find people who need help — in the United States and in remote places around the world — and be the hands of God to them.
What the Word Means
Maranatha — an Aramaic prayer of the first Christians.
“Maranatha” is Aramaic — the everyday language Jesus spoke. Split as Marana tha, it means “Our Lord, come!”
The word appears at the end of Paul's first letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 16:22) and in the Didache — one of the earliest Christian writings outside the New Testament, from roughly the late first century. The earliest believers used it as a prayer for the return of Christ.
We named this fund for that prayer because it is our posture too: awake, expectant, and busy being useful to the people around us while we wait.
Our Mission
To be the hands of God — everywhere.
To share the love of Christ with Christians and non-believers alike. To seek out people in remote places who need help — whether that place is across the street or across the world — and to stand with them with prayer, presence, and practical care.
What Guides Us
Compassion in action, not advocacy in words.
Maranatha is not centered on politics or persuasion. It is centered on showing up.
Christ-Centered
Every act of care is rooted in the love of Jesus Christ.
Practical, Not Talk
We meet real needs — food, shelter, medical bills, ministry support.
Anyone in Need
Christians and non-believers alike. No statement of faith required.
Awake and Expectant
We live and serve as those who are waiting for the Lord to come.
If You're Reading This
You're not too much. Your need is not too small.
The whole reason we exist is people in hard seasons who need someone to actually help. Tell us what's happening.
